This course is designed to equip operators with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely and efficiently use order pickers and ride-on pallet trucks.

The course covers key topics such as pre-use inspections, load handling, safe driving techniques, and awareness of common workplace hazards. Both theoretical and hands-on training are provided, followed by assessments to ensure competence.

By the end of this course each delegate should be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

• The reasons for operator training and understand the causes of lift truck instability and accidents.
• The responsibilities of operators to themselves and others including your legal duties.
• How to Identify all the controls and their functions on the order picker.
• Carry out daily pre shift checks or take-over checks before operating, and the parts of the order picker requiring particular attention.
• Safely start up and maneuver the order picker in open and confined spaces; Correctly loading materials with forks and move around area safely.
• Safely park and stop the order picker at the end of operating.
• Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures.
